Our Hiru Om Ayurveda Resort, which opened in mid-October 2022, invites you on an Ayurvedic journey to yourself. It is located not far from the “mother house” Hiru Villa in Maggona and impresses not only with its beautifully landscaped botanical garden and its direct location on a spacious bay with a beautiful private beach, but above all with the spirituality that can be felt everywhere here. In addition to impressive trees, exotic flowers and shrubs, ponds and resting places such as the “Summer Hut”, the extensive garden also includes a Bodhi tree, an offshoot of the approximately 2000-year-old original from Anuradhapura, under which, according to legend, Buddha once found enlightenment. The tree was brought to Sri Lanka from India and today enjoys the status of a national shrine.
The Hiru Om has a total of 12 double rooms (approx. 38 sqm) on 2 floors, each with a balcony or terrace overlooking the beautiful garden and the sea (some slightly to the side). The individual, stylish and very creative “Hiru design” is of course also reflected in the rooms. In addition to shower/WC, hairdryer, telephone, safe, fan, air conditioning (for a fee), mosquito net and Wi-Fi, Ayurvedic care products and a yoga mat are of course also available. Single rooms are double rooms for single use.
In the round, open restaurant on the first floor, which attracts the eye with its artistic murals, you can expect individually tailored Sinhalese and Ayurvedic dishes as a menu (vegetarian options, some white fish). Some of the ingredients come from the hotel’s own vegetable garden. This also invites you to harvest one or two vegetables yourself and have them prepared by the kitchen.

In the seven treatment rooms of the Hiru Om Ayurveda Center you will experience the daily Ayurveda treatments. Qualified Ayurveda doctors and therapists practice with great experience and care in accordance with the Hiru philosophy. Some treatments, e.g. Ayurvedic foot or facial massages or the final flower bath, are also carried out in the garden in good weather.
Yoga and meditation are an excellent way to harmonize body, mind and soul in the extensive grounds and effectively support the Ayurvedic treatments. You can experience your asanas and breathing exercises either in the open yoga pavilion in the garden with a view of the sea or, depending on the weather, on the first floor in the lovingly named “round room for spiritual activities”. Beach lovers also have the opportunity to practise yoga on the beautiful beach on the specially constructed yoga platform. You can also take individual yoga lessons, the yoga teacher is on site all day.

In addition to the intensive spa treatments, there is plenty of space and time for relaxing reading or walking in the garden or on the beautiful beach. Tranquillity and idyll are very important here. You are also welcome to use the saltwater pool to relax your senses. You can also take part in various leisure activities outside the resort, just ask the Hiru team. Ideas include excursions to the authentic fishing village of Maggona or by tuk-tuk to the nearby villages of Kalutara or Beruwala, as well as boat and island trips.
